The launch of the Land Rover Discovery 2 was an underwhelming experience, nothing of note appearance wise had been changed on the car at all, the philosophy seemed to be – if it is not broken then don’t fix it. Despite it looking as if nothing had been changed in fact it actually had entirely different body panel and engine options. Driving aids were developed in this second generation Land Rover Discovery including Four Wheel Electronic Traction Control and Hill Descent Control. Inside the cabin there was an entirely new dashboard layout with the third row of seats facing forwards as opposed to seated by the side of the vehicle. Like its predecessor the Discovery 2 has a huge available towing capacity of 3500kg which allows for towing a large caravan and trailer without any hinderance.
