Fiat as a towing car
We supply and fit tow bars for all Fiat towing approved vehicles. The Fiat 500 is an approved towing vehicle with a maximum towing capacity of 800kg, usually when towing a caravan the rule is to not exceed 85% of the maximum towing capacity, meaning it would be up to 735kg as a maximum towing weight for a caravan for the Fiat 500. In theory the Fiat 500 could tow a smaller caravan with the weight of around 650-680kg allowing for a very small loading weight, however the pressure this would have on the performance of the car depending on the roads and weather conditions would not make this an ideal car for towing a caravan. The Fiat 500 vehicles are more suited to towing small trailers or light cycle carriers. The majority of the Fiat vehicles are city cars, however Fiat have quite a few vehicles which could be considered commercial vehicles with a higher towing capacity, the Fiat Ducato has a towing capacity of 3000kg and should be considered for heavier duty towing. (When towing a caravan only 85% of the towing weight is recommended, check with the manufacturer for vehicle specific maximum towing weights.)
