Mitsubishi pinin 3 door equippe registration SO 05 KXR. The chassis does not have on the offside M12 x 1.25 threaded nuts within the chassis unlike earlier year models. There seems to be two straight through holes instead. The Witter instruction manual doesn't show how the off side is then secured. Can you advise please

Hi Geoff, it sounds to me that it could be an Import model there's no easy answer for you other than modifying something on the vehicle, I can not guarantee this will fit perfectly.
Kind regards
Adam
Many thanks for your prompt reply. I initially thought that it was a one off on the vehicle I have but then checked on another 2005 vehicle of the same make. That also didn't have the offside nuts in the chassis. Would you consider that putting two M10 bolts though the aligned holes and then fitted with secured washers, nuts and torqued would do the job?
With king regards

Hi Geoff, I have spoken to Witter technical and they say it should be fine with good grade bolts but be aware as the vehicle may not have a towing capacity on the VIN plate if it is an import.
Kind regards
Adam
Thank you very much for your help on this. Where do I find the VIN plate to check?. There is a general 1850kg on the witter literature for the registration SO 05 KXR, but this probably applies to the tow bar
Looking at the tow bar- if I add a third hole on the outer plate, then I can fit three bolts of about 75mm through the chassis and tow bar faces.
That should work- only used for towing trailer to refuge tip
Thanks again
With kind regards

Hi Geoff, there should be a couple of weights on the VIN plate
you need to deduct the weight of the car from the gross train weight and the difference is what you can tow.
