Coding is required to tell the vehicles ECU that a towbar is present so the towing electrics will function properly. This is done with a diagnostic tool, and may need to be done by the main dealers.

The Westfalia Detachable will fit the ML350 with AMG styling. This bar is also O.E to Mercedes. With this bar you would also need a lower bumper trim from Mercedes.
All Detachable bars will fit your model of the ML.

Hi. Thanks for the previous reply regarding product 313406. Do you know the P/N of the lower bumper for the Mercedes W166. The electrics, is it straight forward plug in with no software updates required. I am looking to order this week for delivery next Mon/Tues.
