Coding is required to tell the vehicles ECU that a towbar is present so the towing electrics will function properly. This is done with a diagnostic tool, and may need to be done by the main dealers.

Citroen Berlingo Van (L1) 04/2008-10/2018 Brink Swan Neck Tow Bar
Hi Gary, if you install vehicle specific wiring to the vehicle then yes the Berlingo model from 2008 onwards would need coding via a diagnostic machine, basically to tell the vehicle it now has a towbar installed to enable it to function properly.
Kind regards.
Hello. I'm trying to order a swan neck towbar and dedicated electrics pack for my standard Citroën Berlingo Multispace, Sept 2013.
You have choices of L1 and L2 on the website. Which one will be suitable for my vehicle please ?
Secondly, what does a "bypass" do, and if I need it, is it included in the dedicated electrics pack for this vehicle please ?
Thank you in advance.

Hi Peter, all of the Multispace's are L1 (SWB) and the bypass is only required when installing a universal wiring kit to your vehicle, the dedicated wiring kit has everything required to install it. Kind regards
