The Golf Sportvan was launched in 2013, with towbars arriving on the market in 2014. Based on the VW Group MQB platform, the Golf SV is the third variant of the seventh-generation Golf, alongside the hatchback and the Estate, and has a look that clearly follows the design of its siblings, with strong elements of Volkswagen’s design ‘DNA’. At 4,338 mm long, the new SV is 134 mm longer than the Golf Plus that it replaces, 83 mm longer than the Golf hatchback, and 224 mm shorter than the Golf Estate.Volkswagen Golf Sportvan Towbar electric kits

Bypass Relays
Volkswagen Golf Sportvan will require a bypass relay when universal electrics are fitted.Bypass relays are used to ensure that the kit does not present faults on the dashboard. A bypass relay helps the universal kit hide from your vehicle ECU and functions so as not to put faults on the dashboard hence the name “BYPASS”

Nose weight is the amount of weight pushing down on the tow ball, it is important to not exceed the nose weight set on the tow bar, failure to do so could damage the car chassis and/or tow bar mounting points. For the Volkswagen Golf Sportvan, the nose range varies only slightly over the different tow bars. Towing weight is the weight that the Volkswagen Golf Sportvan towbars can tow safely, without damaging the vehicle, the maximum capacity towing weight is 2200kg, and the minimum capacity towing capacity is 1800kg. The towing weight is shown under each towbar, as capacities are towbar specific.You will need to check the towing limit for your model of Golf Sportsvan as it may not be able to tow up to the weight limit that the tow bar can tow.
