Nissan Qashqai Towbars

The Qashqai was first launched in 2006 is a crossover compact SUV, when it comes to towing the Nissan Qashqai packs some punch. Currently, there are two generations of Qashqai 2007-2014 and 2014 onwards, towbars were produced from 2007. We will cover the towing specifics of both generations below, we stock a range of Qashqai towbars, including, fixed, detachable and swan neck towbars.

Nissan Qashqai 2014 Onwards Towbars


The second generation of Qashqai's was launched in 2014, if you have a 2014 Qashqai it is important you correctly determine which model you have to ensure you get the correct towbar. You can check this from your logbook and the model number will be stated there, J10 for 2007 to 2014, and J11 for 2014 onwards

Nissan Qashqai 2014 onwards Towbar electric kits


We recommend that all tow bars fitted to a Nissan Qashqai 2014 onwards are fitted with a dedicated electrics kit, this not only helps to ensure all modern features, such as trailer stability, parking sensors function correctly, but also ensures that the vehicles manufacturer’s warranty is not invalidated.


A quick look at Nissan's warranty page confirms that Qashqai's produced between in the last three 3 years, after 2016 (at time of writing) will have a manufacturers warranty active, Nissan Warranty information


We do of course offer universal electrics kits for the Nissan Qashqai 2014 onwards towbar fits, as stated these will invalidate any manufacturer warranty you may have and will also require a bypass relay.

Bypass Relays

All Nissan Qashqai's 2014 onwards tow bar fits that are done using a universal towbar electrics kit will require a require a bypass relay, this is to ensure that kit does not present faults on the dashboard.

A bypass relay helps the universal kit hide from your vehicle ECU and functions so as not to put faults on the dashboard hence the name “BYPASS”

A dedicated system works in harmony with your vehicles ECU and all of its functions.

Coding

This is the coding of the ECU to accept the dedicated system, this updates your vehicle's software to run smoothly with the new towbar, it works very much like an update to your smartphone. Nissan Qashqai 2014 onwards vehicles will not require coding.

Bumper cuts

The tow bar you select will determine whether or not the rear bumper of the car will need cutting for the Nissan Qashqai 2014 onwards towbars, we offer none visible and no cut, tow bars.

Nose weight

Nose weight is the amount of weight pushing down on the tow ball, it is important to not exceed the nose weight set on the tow bar, failure to do so could damage the car chassis and/or tow bar mounting points. For the Nissan Qashqai's manufactured after 2014, the minimum nose weight is 100kg, and the maximum nose weight is 110kg, the bar you select will determine what nose weight you have. Nose weights are displayed under each tow bar below.

Towing weight

Towing weight is the weight that the Nissan Qashqai's 2014 onwards can tow safely, without damaging the vehicle, this ranges between 2000kg to 1800kg depending on which Nissan Qashqai 2014 onwards towbar you chose.

You will need to check the towing limit for your model of Nissan Qashqai 2014 Onwards Towbars as it may not be able to tow up to the weight limit that the tow bar can tow
