Jeep’s heritage in building large off-road vehicles stretches back over 60 years, the Jeep Cherokee 2014 marks a return to the UK market for the American compact SUV vehicle and it is aimed at competing with the likes of the BMW X3, Honda CR-V and the Land Rover Freelander. Jeep predicted that this new high powered model would be the biggest seller in the UK, but also had the hope that it would appeal to many as a company car because of the low CO2 figures. Compared to its sportier rivals the Cherokee is not that fast, even with the 168bhp engine it feels like you have to work hard.
The Cherokee sways the vote when considering the interior, there is lots of space up in the front with a 5inch infotainment system. The boot does not have as much loading space as would be expected, but it is a good shape and comes with a rail of bag hooks as standard. Ultimately the Jeep Cherokee 2014 onwards has a towing capacity of 2500kg which would have no trouble towing any trailer and medium family sized caravan.
