Below we will be covering the last three generations of Hyundai i30 < towing specifics. As there are three generations of Hyundai i30 Tourer/Estate covered here it is important to check your vehicle if it is on a change over year. The logbook will state the model number, ( see below) this will help you to ensure you are selecting the correct towbars for your vehicle.

Hyundai i30 Tourer/Estate 2017 Onwards Towbar Electric Kits

We recommend that all bars fitted to a 2016 Onwards Hyundai i30 Tourer/Estate are fitted with a dedicated electrics kit, this not only helps to ensure all modern features, such as trailer stability, parking sensors function correctly, but also ensures that the vehicles manufacturer’s warranty is not invalidated. A quick look at Hyundai's warranty page confirms that Hyundai i30 Tourer/Estate's produced after 2017 all vehicles will have a manufacturers warranty active

We do of course offer universal electrics kits for 2017 Onwards Hyundai i30 Tourer/Estate towbar fits, as stated these will invalidate any manufacturer warranty you may have.

Bypass Relays

All Hyundai i30 Tourer/Estate 2017 Onwards fits that use a universal towbar electrics kit will require a require a bypass relay, this is to ensure that it does not present faults on the dashboard. A bypass relay helps the universal kit hide from your vehicle ECU and functions so as not to put faults on the dashboard hence the name “BYPASS”. A dedicated system works in harmony with your vehicles ECU and all of its functions.

Coding

This is the coding of the ECU to accept the dedicated system, this updates your vehicle's software to run smoothly with the new towbar, it works very much like an update to your smartphone. Hyundai i30 Tourer/Estate vehicles made 2017 Onwards will not require coding.

Bumper cuts

We currently only offer towards that require a none visible cut, or No cut, for the Hyundai i30 Tourer/Estate 2017 onwards, a bumper cut is not always required.

Nose weight

Nose weight is the amount of weight pushing down on the tow ball, it is important to not exceed the nose weight set on the tow bar, failure to do so could damage the car chassis and/or tow bar mounting points. For the Hyundai i30 Tourer/Estate manufactured 2017 Onwards, the minimum capacity is 80KG the maximum capacity is 95kg, nose weights are displayed under each tow bar below.

Towing weight

Towing weight is the weight that the Hyundai i30 Tourer/Estate 2017 Onwards G31 towbars can tow safely, without damaging the vehicle, the minimum capacity is 1500kg, the maximum capacity is 1550kg for all the tow bars that fit Hyundai i30 Tourer/Estate 2017 Onwards.
