Seat Alhambra Towbars

Things to considerTowbar types explained Towbar Electrics

Seat Alhambra Towing Specifications

The Seat Alhambra is a large multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) manufactured by Spanish automaker SEAT. Below we will cover the three generations of the Seat Alhambra's towing specifications.

Seat Alhambra 2013 onwards

Towbar electric kits

We recommend that all tow bars fitted to a Seat Alhambra 2013 onwards, are fitted with a dedicated electrics kit, this not only helps to ensure all modern features, such as trailer stability, parking sensors function correctly, but also ensures that the vehicles manufacturer’s warranty is not invalidated.

A quick look at Seat's warranty page offers the option to extend your warranty up to 5 years. Depending on whether you have taken the extended warranty cover, Seat Alhambra's which are less than three years old, and which have driven less than 60,000 miles on the clock, will have a manufacturers warranty active.

"When you buy your new SEAT from an authorised UK dealer, you’ll get a three-year vehicle warranty.
It includes a two-year unlimited mileage manufacturer’s warranty and a third-year warranty up to 60,000 miles. Plus, you’ll be covered with a three-year paintwork warranty and a 12-year anti-perforation warranty.

You can also extend your three-year vehicle warranty by a further one or two years, only at the point of ordering your new SEAT."
Seat Warranty information
We do of course offer, Seat Alhambra 2013 onwards universal electrics kits, however as stated these will invalidate any manufacturer warranty you may have.

Bypass Relays

Seat Alhambra 2013 onwards will require a bypass relay when universal electrics are fitted. Bypass relays are used to ensure that the kit does not present faults on the dashboard.

A bypass relay helps the universal kit hide from your vehicle ECU and functions so as not to put faults on the dashboard hence the name “BYPASS”.

A dedicated system works in harmony with your vehicles ECU and all of its functions.

Coding

This is the coding of the ECU to accept the dedicated system, this updates your vehicle's software to run smoothly with the new towbar, it works very much like an update to your smartphone. All Seat Alhambra 2013 onwards will require coding. Dedicated kits will not invalidate any warranty you may have.
