Things to considerTowbar types explained Towbar Electrics

Peugeot Expert Towing Specifications

Below we will cover all three generations of the Peugeot Expert's towing specifications.

Peugeot Expert 2016 Onwards Towbar electric kits

We recommend that all tow bars fitted to a Peugeot Expert 2016 Onwards are fitted with a dedicated electrics kit, this not only helps to ensure all modern features, such as trailer stability, parking sensors function correctly, but also ensures that the vehicles manufacturer’s warranty is not invalidated.

A quick look at Peugeot's warranty page confirms that Peugeot Expert 2016 Onwards, only vehicles which are under 3 years old or have less than 60,000 miles on the clock, will have a manufacturers warranty active unless you have taken out the extended warranty.

"We’ll put it right for free. Naturally, we recommend that you take your Peugeot to one of our authorised repair centres for any work it needs. That’s the best way to make sure it gets first-rate attention from Peugeot-trained technicians, who’ll only use genuine Peugeot parts.
It also means your Peugeot Warranty will remain valid for its full duration. See our Warranty Terms & Conditions. Talk to your local Peugeot dealer to find out exactly what your Peugeot Vehicle Warranty covers. You can also check on the recommended Service Intervals for your Peugeot.

EXTENDING YOUR WARRANTY

For continued peace of mind, you can extend your warranty beyond the end of Peugeot’s manufacturer warranty with a Peugeot Renewal Warranty, providing your Peugeot is less than 3 years old, and has covered less than 60,000 miles. You can purchase Peugeot Renewal Warranty If you currently have a Peugeot Renewal Warranty or a Peugeot Approved Used Warranty, your vehicle has covered less than 100,000 miles, and will be less than 10 years old on your policy expiry date, we will be in touch before it expires to invite you to renew your warranty.
Peugeot Renewal Warranty offers extensive component coverage, repairs can be carried out at a Peugeot Authorised Repairer, and is available as an Annual Policy or a Monthly Renewing Policy. Another great thing about a Peugeot Renewal Warranty is that it’s fully transferrable if you decide to sell your car - a great incentive for potential buyers." Peugeot Warranty information
We do of course offer, Peugeot Expert 2016 Onwards universal electrics kits, however as stated these will invalidate any manufacturer warranty you may have.

Bypass Relays

Peugeot Expert 2016 Onwards will require a bypass relay when universal electrics are fitted. Bypass relays are used to ensure that the kit does not present faults on the dashboard.

A bypass relay helps the universal kit hide from your vehicle ECU and functions so as not to put faults on the dashboard hence the name “BYPASS”.

A dedicated system works in harmony with your vehicles ECU and all of its functions.

Coding

This is the coding of the ECU to accept the dedicated system, this updates your vehicle's software to run smoothly with the new towbar, it works very much like an update to your smartphone. All Peugeot Expert 2016 Onwards will require coding if a dedicated kit is fitted.
