It doesn’t look like holidays abroad are going to be a reality for most of us this year but there are some amazing coastal areas in the UK that are every bit as beautiful as abroad.  A domestic beach holiday is the perfect way to relax, is fun for all the family and there are always lots of local activities and watersports to enjoy.

If you are fortunate enough to have your own caravan, then you are in the great position of being able to head to the UK’s best beaches and stay in the local campsites. Here are some of the campsites that are just a stone’s throw from the beach:

Hendra Holiday Park, Newquay

The south west of England is spoilt for choice with beaches and the five-star Hendra Holiday Park is near all seven of Newquay’s stunning beaches. The campsite is much more than somewhere to pitch, there are play parks, a kids club and the Oasis Fun Pools complex to keep the kids entertained all summer long!

Chy Carne Camping and Touring Park, Helston, Cornwall

Situated practically as far south as you can go in UK mainland, Chy Carne campsite is just north of Lizard Point, which is worth a visit! Of course, there are many other reasons to visit this neck of the woods and caravanners can enjoy sea views overlooking the bay at Kennack Sands. A great place to stay and visit the local beaches.

Awelfryn Caravan Park, Anglesey, Wales

There are plenty of great beaches along the Wales coast, but this area is exceptionally stunning and a trip to Llanddwyn Island is a must for beach lovers. As well as being able to explore the beaches around the Llyn Peninsula, the Snowdon National Park is a short distance away if you fancy a day or two of exploration, as well as relaxing on the beach.

Rosemarkie Camping and Caravanning Club, Highlands, Scotland

In the Scottish Highlands, Rosemarkie is a beautiful spot to stay, not far from Inverness. The Rosemarkie Camping and Caravanning Club overlooks the spectacular bay of the Moray Firth. As well as spending time on the beach, be on the lookout for dolphins and discover beautiful waterfalls at the Fairy Glen.

Searles Leisure Resort, Hunstanton, Norfolk

Searles Leisure Resort is close to some of the best beaches in Norfolk and a trip to Brancaster Beach is highly recommended, where you will see golden sand for as far as you can see. The caravan site has loads of entertainment and activities for children of all ages, with summer holiday sports clubs and an outdoor play park.

Sandford Holiday Park, Poole, Dorset

From Sandford you can easily access Lake Beach and Shell Bay is just a short drive away, where there is an endless selection of great beaches. On the campsite there are some excellent facilities for families, including outdoor and indoor pools, a large slide and outdoor play areas.

If you are still dreaming about a beach holiday this year, you can still get it by staying at any of these coastal caravan parks. Before you set off, make sure you have all of your caravan trip essentials from the PF Jones online shop.
