The Skoda Rapid is a name that has been used repeatedly throughout Skoda’s lifetime; first in 1935, then in 1984 and more recently in 2012. The 2012 version is a small family car range and is a separate and entirely different model from others of its name. The range comes in either a saloon or hatchback body style and contains engineering similar to the Seat Toledo, as they were both built in the same factory at the same time. With a conservative design and spacious interior, the range appeals to a variety of drivers. Available with a choice of petrol and diesel engines, these all offer different power outputs for the driver to choose from. The 1.4 litre TDI diesel engine and the 1.6 litre TDI diesel motor are both strong engines that are successful in delivering a good, punchy performance. In all, the Skoda Rapid is a range with great versatility, being both practical and fun to drive, altogether a great rounded range.
