The Land Rover Defender is a British motoring icon, that was first launched in 1948. The popularity of the series lasted up to 70 years, with production ending in 2016. One of the main reasons for its immense success is the vehicle's unbelievably capable off road abilities, which meant it was a brand mainstay since its release. Because of its capabilities, the range was unrivalled off road and the solid build of the model only increased its dominating presence. Over the years the range has had a quite a few engine options, but the main choice has been the 2.2 litre diesel engine that was borrowed from the Ford Transit. This is an engine with a strong pull that delivers flexibility and a powerful drive. In all, the Land Rover Defender is a classic range that is simple and easy to maintain, while being extremely versatile; it can be a commercial vehicle, farm tool or a off roader.
