Welcome back caravan sites!

 It’s been a long time since we said goodbye to our beloved campsites in the UK but after the government’s announcement on the 23rd - we are happy to see caravan parks and campsites are now allowed to open back up in England!  

This is great news for caravanners and motorhome enthusiasts alike who thought that their summer trips were going to be missed this year.   

Boris Johnson announced that campsites will be allowed to re-open from the 4th of July, along with other businesses that have had closed doors for a while including restaurants, hotels and pubs.  

Social distancing measures still apply and of course, there are strict hygiene measures to be adhered to on campsites, including keeping shared facilities such as toilets and showers clean and safe.  

The new social distancing measure is that members of the public are to keep a 1-metre plus distance rather than the previous 2-metres. This means keeping 1-metre away whilst also using another precaution such as a face covering or hand sanitising.   

Campsites have been inundated with enquiries since March, from reasonably concerned caravanners who were unsure if their plans were going to be able to go ahead. Whilst there is going to be some transition time whilst caravan parks and campsites get everybody booked back in, it’s amazing to know that the summer will not be a complete write-off for caravanners!
