End of Summer Campervan Destinations

Summer has sadly drawn to a close, true to British summer traditions we’ve had some record-breaking heatwaves and some abysmal thunderstorms! We hope you’ve been able to enjoy some great camper van holidays this summer. But, before you think of putting your camper van to rest until next spring, we think you’ve still got time for one last-minute trip! There is still hope for the UK to have an Indian summer, and we have a list of our top ten camper van destinations in which you could spend your last summer camper van holiday!

Ladram Bay – Devon

Previously voted as the best holiday park in Britain, Ladram Bay is the perfect place to go for a family camper van holiday. Set on the Jurassic Coast, you can spend your days on the beach or exploring the Devon countryside. There are also plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained at the holiday park, with kids clubs, climbing walls, a soft play area, swimming pools, and adventure golf. It’s is guaranteed to be a holiday the whole family will enjoy.

Meadow Lakes – Cornwall

If you are looking for a peaceful holiday in a tranquil and rural setting the Meadow Lakes will be an ideal choice. Set in the Cornish countryside, there are plenty of Cornwall’s top attractions only a short distance away, you won’t be stuck on things to do. Within the site, there is also an outdoor heated pool, café, animal petting area, fishing lakes and shower, and launderette facilities.

South Lytchett Manor Caravan and Camping Park – Dorset

Set in the Dorset countryside, South Lytchett Manor Caravan and Camping Park is an award-winning, five-star, dog-friendly campsite local several amazing beaches such as Bournemouth and Poole. The site has bicycle hire, internet access, a games room, pitches with water, electricity and tv connections, a fully stocked shop, laundry and shower facilities, a bakery and a wood and pond area. There are also local pubs within walking distance.

 Beddgelert Campsite – Snowdonia

 

Beddgelert Campsite is set in the forest within the Snowdonia national park. It is the ideal location if you are looking to get closer to nature. Within the site is Meillionen train station which offers a unique way to see the Snowdonia scenery. The site also has shower facilities, a shop, a bakehouse offering fresh pastries, pizzas and takeaways, forest ranger tours and access to forest night vision equipment to see the local wildlife at night.

Whitefield Forest Touring Park – Isle of Wight

For those wanting to travel a bit further afield or already living on the Isle of Wight, Whitefield Forest Touring Park is located in Whitefield Woods. Surrounded by wildlife such as Red Squirrels and Woodpeckers, this site is perfect for anyone wanting a quiet retreat. There are several woodland walks to go on and local beaches nearby.

Staden Grange – Buxton

Staden Grange offers a peaceful site to unwind and relax. The campsite is set in two acres of woodland with a cycle track, den building, nature trails, play areas, and picnic areas. The site also boasts a tearoom and its own miniature animal farm. A perfect site for young families.

Billing Aquadrome – Nene Valley

For a fun family getaway, Billing Aquadrome has everything you could possibly wish for! With 235 acres to explore, your family can enjoy fishing, water sports, a swimming pool, a funfair, adventure playground, soft play, mini-golf, restaurants as well as woodland walks and picturesque scenery. The site is also pet-friendly so you can bring your dogs too!

Myrus Holiday/Caravan Park - Aberdeenshire

Voted as the Scottish winner in the Top 100 Sites 2019 by Practical Caravan & Motorhome, Myrus Caravan park is perfect if you want an adult-only getaway. The caravan and motor home section is only open to adults so you can really enjoy the peace and quiet. The site has full shower and laundry facilities and also has a small shop on site which gets fresh bread and newspapers daily. Opposite the site is a driving range with a coffee shop and café.

Woodlands Devils Bridge – Aberystwyth

Just 12 Miles from the seaside town of Aberystwyth, Woodland’s is a family-friendly campsite, perfect for nature lovers with 400 acres of land to explore. The site has its own shop and tearoom serving lunch and breakfast, as well as having free showering facilities, a laundry room a play area and an indoor games room.

The Old Oaks – Somerset

An award-winning, adult-only campsite situated in the Somerset countryside near the town of Glastonbury. The site has painting courses, a fishing lake, fresh coffee and baked goods, a choice of takeaway delivery services, games rooms, caravan cleaning services and plenty of nature trails.
