Campsites to visit in the new year

With Coronavirus ruining most of our summer plans, it's no surprise that campsites have seen a surge in winter bookings this year. If you are one of the many caravanners looking for a winter trip this year, you’re in the right place. To save you scouring the internet, we have selected some great campsites that are open all year round – meaning you can head there this winter.

Have a look at our suggestions below...

Troutbeck Head, Cumbria

A firm favourite of ours, Troutbeck Head is situated below the Great Mell Fell and is surrounded by stunning picturesque views. For a nature lover, this site is the perfect destination with easy access to lakes, mountains and valleys with the nice addition of small villages, local pubs and farm shops dotted around the area.

This site is family-friendly and dog friendly, so it even makes a great retreat for a post-Christmas trip!

Canterbury Campsite, Kent

This campsite is surrounded by beautiful heritage and history, so a great place to spend the winter if you fancy lots of walks and exploring. The campsite itself has good dog walking facilities and is located next to a lovely café and pub which are both also dog friendly.

Staying here allows you to explore a few locations including the Victorian village of Broadstairs, the harbour of Whitstable or visit the traditional seaside town of Herne-Bay. This is another great destination for families but also great for cyclists who can take benefit of the Park and Pedal scheme in Canterbury!

Delamere Forest Campsite, Cheshire

Offering endless walking and cycling opportunities, this campsite is great for nature lovers and cyclists. In Delamere, you can visit Abbeywood Gardens to enjoy the 2km wildlife walk or visit the Go Ape! Course too for a fun day out.

There’s plenty of nearby farm shops selling local produce and you can look forward to a Friday when the fish and chip van visits the site.

This site is great for adventure lovers and those who want a good balance of activities and relaxing.

You may think it’s odd to go caravanning in the winter but lots of people do it every year, especially so now that their summer plans have been cancelled!

If you are thinking about booking a winter trip, be sure to look at our range of Eberspacher heaters. These heaters are essential for keeping warm when out on your winter stays!
